Municipal finances Zollikofen municipal council budgets deficit

The municipal council of Zollikofen BE is expecting a deficit of 1.66 million francs in 2025. It has forwarded the budget to the municipal parliament. The people will have the final say in November.

The expenditure amounts to 48.9 million francs. The tax rate is to remain at 1.40 units. Parliament had discussed a reduction in the tax rate at the end of August, but rejected a corresponding proposal.

The municipal council announced on Tuesday that the budget deficit had been foreseen in the previous year's financial planning. In terms of taxes, additional net income of CHF 2.5 million was expected compared to the previous year. However, this is not enough to produce a balanced budget.

Among other things, the burden in the financial and equalization of burdens has increased by 1.5 million francs compared to the previous year.
