The Red-Green Center Alliance has launched its election campaign for the city council elections in November. Mayor Alec von Graffenried (GFL), Councillor Marieke Kruit (SP), Matthias Aebischer (SP) and Ursina Anderegg (GB) want to defend the left-wing majority in the city government.

The four candidates presented the focal points of their campaign to the media on Thursday: More affordable housing, a Bern worth living in and a strong public service, social climate protection and an urban-friendly transport policy as well as more equal opportunities and a progressive social policy.

Mayor Alec von Graffenried described an improved quality of life for the citizens of Bern as the "top priority". Among other things, he referred to the Ausserholligen development focus, where "the Bern of the future" is to be created in the coming years.

Von Graffenried and Marieke Kruit are also running for the presidency of the city.

In addition to the SP, the Green Alliance and the Green Free List, Rot-Grün-Mitte (RGM) also includes the City of Bern Trade Union Federation.
