The Office for Health and Social Affairs of the Canton of Schwyz has decrypted and archived the electronic patient files of the medical practice in Ibach, which was closed in 2021. Affected persons can request their files free of charge from Archivsuisse.

The physical files were already made available to those affected at the beginning of 2023, as announced by the State Chancellery of the Canton of Schwyz on Thursday. The electronic files, on the other hand, were stored on encrypted data carriers, which first had to be decrypted using a technical procedure.

The medical practice in Ibach had to close in November 2021. Criminal proceedings were opened against the doctor at the end of 2021. She is alleged to have administered expired coronavirus vaccine doses to around 100 people.

As the practice did not document the vaccinations adequately, the canton launched an appeal to find out who had been vaccinated there. As a result, 202 people came forward to whom the doctor had issued a Covid certificate. 46 of them were recommended to have a booster vaccination. According to a statement from the State Chancellery, the doctor's whereabouts are currently unknown.
