Zurich Man injured in kitchen fire in Hombrechtikon ZH

A man was injured in a kitchen fire in an apartment building in Hombrechtikon ZH on Friday evening. According to the police, nine other people had to be evacuated.

The man was admitted to hospital with smoke inhalation, according to the Zurich cantonal police. He was evacuated from his completely smoke-filled apartment via the balcony while the fire department fought a fire in his kitchen.

The fire, which broke out shortly after 7 p.m., is estimated to have caused several tens of thousands of francs worth of damage. The evacuated residents were temporarily accommodated in a nearby hall.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by specialists from the Zurich cantonal police.
