The dispute over the revised Beromünster local plan is going to the highest instance: the plaintiffs are not accepting the ruling of the Lucerne cantonal court and are appealing to the Federal Supreme Court, as the municipality announced on Friday.

The cantonal court dismissed the appeal against the local plan revision passed by the municipality's voters in November 2022 and approved by the cantonal government in its entirety.

This means that the planned development of the municipality has been delayed once again, according to municipality president Manuela Jost in the press release. She is hoping for a quick decision from the Federal Supreme Court.

The revision includes the implementation of the new cantonal planning and building law. It also envisages merging the existing local plans of the merged districts of Beromünster, Neudorf, Gunzwil and Schwarzenbach.
