Federal AHV expenditure in 2040 is expected to be around 10 billion lower than planned. The opinions of blue News readers.

  • The AHV is billions better off than forecast.
  • This topic also concerns blue News readers.
  • Many readers are wondering whether the massive settlements now have consequences.

The federal government's AHV calculation is apparently even more off in the future than previously thought. As revealed on Thursday, the old AHV calculation is up to ten billion francs off by 2040. Previously, the correction was limited to the years up to 2033, where there was talk of around four billion francs or around six percent lower expenditure.

The issue also concerns blue News readers. blue News reader "Dukeicki51" says: "Fortunately, we agreed to the 13th AHV monthly pension. It was already clear at the time, before these miscalculations were even known, that the financial situation of the AHV was presented far too negatively by the opponents with regard to the vote." And "Kurt57" says: "Simply embarrassing." User "Geantleman" thinks: "A primary school pupil would probably have calculated this more accurately than the highly educated specialists."

Many readers are wondering whether there will now be any consequences for the massive calculations. "How can these people still be believed and trusted in federal Bern? With such mistakes in the private sector, heads would roll," says "Thakipri69".

"Nothing worrying"

And "critical-yes" says: "There are countries where such 'miscalculations' would result in immediate resignation. The federal budget needs to be fundamentally reorganized instead of always starting from the status quo." User "Heavy38" also thinks: "With mistakes like this, time and time again, it's clear to me that heads should roll."

Other readers are much more relaxed. "PWaldner" says: "With around 50 billion in expenditure per year, a theoretically possible deviation of 10 billion by 2040 is nothing to worry about, especially as it is going in the 'right' direction. Especially as the 2nd pillar is pointing in the other, negative direction. A lot of drama for nothing really."
