Navigation Divers discover invasive quagga mussel in Lakes Alpnach and Zug

Divers have discovered the invasive quagga mussel in Lakes Zug and Alpnach. The mussel can have a major negative impact on the aquatic ecosystem, as reported by the Lake Lucerne Supervisory Commission on Tuesday.

In order to prevent the spread of the quagga mussel, a ship reporting and cleaning obligation will apply in all cantons of Central Switzerland from the beginning of August.
