The two industry experts are to be elected to the Board of Directors at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting on April 11, as Swiss Re announced on Wednesday. They will replace Philip Ryan and Paul Tucker, who are not standing for re-election.

Hübbe and Quinn bring "extensive experience in the insurance industry, in-depth knowledge of the core business and recognized strategic skills", said Jacques de Vaucleroy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Swiss Re, in the press release.

George Quinn was Chief Financial Officer of Zurich Insurance from 2014 to April 2024. He previously held various management positions at Swiss Re between 1999 and 2014 and was Chief Financial Officer of the reinsurer as a member of the Executive Board from 2007 to 2014.

The second future member of the Swiss Re Board of Directors, Morten Hübbe, was CEO of the Scandinavian non-life insurer Tryg from 2011 to 2023, having previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer there. Prior to that, he worked at Zurich Insurance Group and Almindelig Brand Insurance in Denmark.
