Swiss Post is postponing announced price increases for the worldwide dispatch of subscription newspapers and magazines until 2026, the price watchdog announced in a newsletter on Tuesday.

Swiss Post had originally planned to discontinue the "Press International" product category on January 1, 2025. Newspapers and magazines sent abroad would then have been classified as "Document international", which would have resulted in significant price increases of up to five times, as price watchdog Stefan Meierhans explained.

This project has now been postponed until 2026 due to his intervention with Swiss Post. Moreover, it is not to be implemented all at once, but in stages. However, the exact details are not yet set in stone: the planned changes will be the subject of further discussions between the price watchdog and Swiss Post over the course of next year.
