Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) is to cut around 75 full-time positions across the company in the coming months. SRF has announced that it will make additional changes to its offering and organization by 2027 in order to position itself optimally for the future.

Now that the consultation process has been completed, SRF will begin implementing the personnel measures, as the company announced on Monday. According to the statement, around 10 percent of the 75 full-time management positions are to be cut. The job cuts are part of the previously announced "SRF 4.0" corporate project.

According to the press release, the move is necessary in order to avoid a financial deficit from 2025. The reasons for this are declining commercial revenues and inflation.

In addition to the job cuts, SRF's management has decided to make organizational adjustments in the information departments in order to exploit more synergies between audio, video and digital. The previously separate video and audio/digital editorial departments are to be merged into one multimedia editorial department.

The "Tagesschau" editions at noon and 6 p.m. are to be replaced by moderated news flashes. At weekends, the midday edition will be dropped completely.
