A hiker was found dead below the Röti Jura mountain in Balm near Günsberg SO on Sunday afternoon. According to initial findings, the 62-year-old fell down a steep slope and sustained fatal injuries.

The man's body was found at around 4.30 pm in the rough terrain between "Röti" and "Balmfluechöpfli", as reported by the Solothurn cantonal police on Monday. According to initial findings by the police and public prosecutor's office, an accident is the main cause. There are no indications of third party involvement.

The deceased was rescued by a rescue helicopter. The fire department and a funeral home were also deployed.
