According to the PA news agency, he also pleaded guilty to the charge of possessing deadly poison and a manual of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda. The sentence is due to be announced this Thursday.
The bloody crime on July 29, 2024 in the north-western English town of Southport shocked the UK. The children were attacked during a dance class to the music of Taylor Swift and the three girls died at the ages of six, seven and nine.
This was followed by days of right-wing extremist and anti-Muslim riots across the country, driven by false information about the alleged perpetrator. It had been falsely claimed on social media that the perpetrator was a Muslim migrant. The 18-year-old accused was born in the UK to Rwandan parents. Hundreds of rioters have since been convicted.
