Sales remained at the previous year's level of 3.9 billion Swiss francs, as the Migros subsidiary announced on Tuesday. It was therefore not yet able to break the 4 billion mark it was aiming for.
However, the discounter said that the stable development should be seen as positive in view of the current depressed consumer sentiment. In addition, the bad weather also put pressure on business.
Despite this, more people found their way to Switzerland's largest discounter: the number of customers increased by 3 percent, according to the figures.
The discounter has only climbed to its current sales level since the pandemic. In the last year before the pandemic, Denner's turnover was only 3.3 billion Swiss francs.
Fresh produce range expanded
The discounter is now focusing on expanding its fresh range, it added. Last year, the fresh produce range was expanded in around 160 stores - and customer footfall there increased promptly. The aim is now to modernize around half of all locations in the current financial year.
Denner currently operates 607 of its own stores and 263 partner outlets. The discounter employs just under 6500 people - 308 more than in the previous year.
New CEO in office
Finally, the employees also have a new boss: as previously announced, Torsten Friedrich, the former head of Lidl Switzerland, took over the CEO position from Adrian Bodmer at the beginning of January.
Bodmer had managed Denner on an interim basis from May 2023 to December 2024. He will now focus on his role as Chief Financial Officer again, the company announced.
