Migros' major restructuring is also affecting the web stores of its subsidiaries. The Café Royal online store will be closed on September 25, the "orange giant" explained on Tuesday in response to a corresponding article in "Blick".

However, the entire Café Royal range will remain available online at Migros.ch and Galaxus, as well as in Migros stores. "The CoffeeB.com webshop will not be closed," it continued.

The online store of sports retailer SportX, which has sold around half of its stores to competitor Ochsner Sport, is also coming to an end. "The SportX online store will be discontinued by the end of February 2025 at the latest, in parallel with the closure of the SportX stores," a Migros spokeswoman said in response to an inquiry.

Bike World, which was sold to bike manufacturer Thömus, will continue its online store under the name "Thömus-Bike-World" after the takeover in March 2025.

The online store of electronics retailer Melectronics, which sold 20 of its 37 stores to Media Markt, has already been closed. The remaining 17 stores have been or will be closed.

Migros also intends to sell its travel subsidiary Hotelplan, the Micasa furniture store, the Do it + Garden stores and the cosmetics and hygiene subsidiary Mibelle. Last February, the retailer also announced plans to cut up to 1,500 jobs out of a total of around 100,000.
