US President Donald Trump has ordered massive attacks against the Iran-backed Huthi militia in Yemen. The US is currently carrying out airstrikes on the terrorists' bases, leaders and missile defense positions in order to protect American shipping and restore freedom of navigation, Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. The Huthi had waged a relentless campaign of violence and terrorism against ships and aircraft of the USA and other countries.

The USA had reclassified the Houthi militia as a foreign terrorist organization at the beginning of March.
Addressing Iran, Trump wrote that support for the Houthi terrorists must be ended immediately. Tehran should not threaten the American people, its president or global shipping routes. "Be warned, because America will hold you accountable, and we will not be nice to you!"
The Huthis announced that areas north of the Yemeni capital Sanaa had been hit in American-British attacks. A pro-Iranian broadcaster in Lebanon spoke of nine dead, citing the Yemeni Ministry of Health.
