Thousands of Israelis once again demonstrated nationwide this evening for the release of hostages. At a rally in Tel Aviv, the friend of a kidnap victim recently found dead in the Gaza Strip demanded an agreement with Hamas. The relatives of the other hostages should not also have to hug coffins, said Masen Abu Siam, an Arab Israeli. The Gaza war had led to a lot of unnecessary bloodshed on both sides.

His 53-year-old friend and his 22-year-old son were discovered dead in a tunnel in the Gaza Strip a few days ago. According to the army, the two men, who belong to a Bedouin community, were killed in Hamas captivity. They had been abducted on October 7, 2023 during the Hamas massacre in the Gaza Strip.
The German ambassador to Israel, Steffen Seibert, was also expected to attend a rally in Tel Aviv. "Jews, Bedouins, Christians, Druze - the pain and grief over the loss of a hostage unites us all," he wrote on Platform X.
According to the media, hundreds also demonstrated again in Jerusalem to persuade the government to make a deal with Hamas.
Indirect negotiations on a ceasefire and the release of hostages still held in the Gaza Strip in return for Palestinian prisoners are currently underway again in the Gulf state of Qatar.
