USA Team Harris: 200 million dollars raised in one week

The campaign team of US presidential candidate Kamala Harris says it has raised donations amounting to 200 million dollars (around 184 million euros) in less than a week. Two thirds of the money came from first-time donors, according to the Democrat's team. This indicates that Harris enjoys broad support among the party's base. Last Sunday, US President Joe Biden declared his withdrawal from the presidential race and nominated his deputy Harris as his replacement. The 59-year-old still has to be chosen by the Democrats as their candidate.
