For the second day in a row, the Lebanese Hezbollah militia has fired rockets at the greater Tel Aviv area. There was a rocket alarm in the city center of the coastal metropolis and people rushed to shelters. Muffled explosions could be heard.

Hezbollah claimed to have hit an Israeli intelligence center north of Tel Aviv. The Israeli army, on the other hand, announced that two projectiles fired from Lebanon had been intercepted by the missile defense system. According to media reports, cars in Herzliya, north of Tel Aviv, were hit and damaged by falling rocket fragments.

The Magen David Adom rescue service reported that some people had been injured as they ran to shelters. On Tuesday, the Lebanese Hezbollah militia had already fired five rockets at the greater Tel Aviv area.

The current war between Israel and Hezbollah began a year ago with rocket attacks by the Lebanese militia in support of Hamas, against which Israel has been waging war in the Gaza Strip since the Hamas terror attack on October 7, 2023, which left around 1,200 dead. Since then, Hezbollah and Israel's military have been engaged in heavy shelling. Hundreds of people have been killed, thousands injured and hundreds of thousands displaced, most of them in Lebanon.

Israeli ground troops invaded the neighboring country more than three weeks ago with the declared aim of driving Hezbollah out of the border area and allowing Israelis to return to their homes in the north.
