For the fourth night in a row, numerous people were injured in clashes between demonstrators and police during mass protests against the government in Georgia. The Interior Ministry spoke of 21 police officers who were injured by stones, pyrotechnics, glass bottles and iron objects in the capital Tbilisi. A total of 113 police officers have now been injured in the past few days.

On Sunday, Georgia's pro-European President Salome Zurabishvili called for a new parliamentary election in view of the mass protests in the country. Following accusations of electoral fraud and the government's shift towards the EU, the path to a new vote must be found, she said.
