Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has addressed Christians around the world in a Christmas message. "At a time when Israel is fighting on seven fronts, we deeply appreciate the steadfast support of our Christian friends," Netanyahu said, according to his office.

"We strive for peace with all those who want peace with us, but we will do everything we can to defend the only Jewish state," Netanyahu said. "Israel is leading the world in the fight against the forces of evil and tyranny, but our fight is not over," he said. "From Jerusalem, the city of peace, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."
Since the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, Israel has been fighting against the so-called axis of resistance of its arch-enemy Iran in the region. Of Tehran's other allies, however, only the Houthi rebels are now still attacking Israel.
