The cooperation agreed between Ukraine and Great Britain between their navies in the Black Sea region is causing displeasure in Moscow. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the cooperation also announced for the Sea of Azov was not possible.

"This is an inland sea of Russia, there can hardly be any talk of joint action by Ukraine and Great Britain," he emphasized. Ukraine had lost access to the marginal sea of the Black Sea in the course of the Russian war of aggression. Russia now controls it.
The "100-year partnership" agreed between Kiev and London is causing concern in Moscow, said Peskov.
"Considering that the UK is a Nato country, the relocation of its military infrastructure towards our borders is an element of considerable concern."
On Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer agreed on cooperation between the navies, among other things.
London wants to help Kiev build a navy that will work with the UK and NATO allies to ensure security in the Black and Azov Seas.
Kremlin does not expect sanctions to end under Trump
Peskov also commented once again on the imminent change of power in the USA. Under Donald Trump, who will be inaugurated this Monday, no fundamental changes to US sanctions policy are to be expected.
Even if the US administration declares its willingness to engage in dialog, it is not expected to change its "character traits".
In order to end the Ukraine conflict, Russia is striving not least for the lifting of sanctions. Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin had complained that Trump had harsh sanctions imposed against Russia during his first term in office.
The Kremlin spokesman also said that the latest successes of the "special military operation", as the war of aggression against Ukraine is officially known in Russia, were reassuring for the people in the country.
President Putin continues to enjoy a high level of trust, said Peskov, referring to a survey conducted by the state opinion research institute Wziom.
