Israeli President Izchak Herzog has called on the people of the Middle East to push for changes in the balance of power in their countries. In an interview with the broadcaster Al-Arabia, Herzog said: "I call on the Lebanese people, the Iranian people, the people of all the oppressed nations in the region to stand up and understand that if we move this evil empire, if we confront it, we can certainly hope for a better future." Herzog spoke of the possibility of a NATO-like structure in the region "that blocks radicalism."

In the current war, Israel is trying to "change the equation and bring hope to the people of the Middle East", said Herzog, emphasizing: "We are all children of Abraham."

A few days ago, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had already addressed the Iranians in a video message in English broadcast on social media and appealed: "Don't let a small group of fanatical holy warriors shatter your hopes and dreams."
