According to military reports, the Israeli air force has attacked a Hezbollah militia weapons depot in southern Lebanon. According to consistent Israeli media reports, this was the first air strike by the military in Lebanon since the ceasefire came into force on Wednesday night.

The military announced that "terrorist activity had been identified" at the site of the attack. The pro-Iranian Hezbollah had stored medium-range rockets there. The threat was repelled by an Israeli fighter jet. "The Israeli army remains in the south of Lebanon and is deployed to take action against violations of the ceasefire agreement," the statement said. The military's statements could not initially be independently verified.

The ceasefire agreement provides for Hezbollah to withdraw behind the Litani River about 30 kilometers north of the Israeli-Lebanese border in accordance with a UN resolution. Israel's ground troops are to gradually withdraw from Lebanon within 60 days.
