After the start of the ceasefire between Israel and the Hezbollah militia, Israel's army banned access to the border area in southern Lebanon for around 14 hours as darkness fell.

It is forbidden to enter areas further south from the Litani River between 17:00 local time (16:00 CET) and 07:00 (06:00 CET), an Israeli army spokesperson announced on Platform X. People already in the area to the south should remain where they are.

"For your safety, you must follow these instructions," the spokesperson explained. The Israeli army had already announced such a requirement on Wednesday evening for the period after nightfall.

According to the cease-fire agreement, the pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia must withdraw behind the Litani River about 30 kilometers north of the Israeli-Lebanese border. According to the agreement, Israeli troops are to gradually withdraw from Lebanon within 60 days. According to the military, it is still taking action against Hezbollah members in the area who are violating the agreement.
