Islamist Hamas is celebrating the international arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Joav Galant as a historic step.

The decision by the International Criminal Court in The Hague is an "important historical precedent and a correction of a long path of historical injustice against our people", Hamas announced. The USA had tried for months to prevent the move against the two "terrorists" Netanyahu and Galant and had "terrorized" the court and its judges. Hamas did not comment on the arrest warrant also issued against the military leader of the terrorist organization Hamas, Mohammad Diab Ibrahim Al-Masri, also known as Mohammed Deif.

Hamas called on the World Criminal Court to extend the investigations against "all criminal leaders of the occupation" to ministers and officers who "shed the blood of our Palestinian people". Countries around the world must help to bring the "war criminals" Netanyahu and Galant to justice.

Hamas triggered the Gaza War with its terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Israel responded with devastating attacks in the coastal area.
