Iran resumes civilian air traffic at Tehran International Airport. "The situation is back to normal and air traffic is running again," a spokesman for Imam Khomeini Airport (IKA) told the Ilna news agency.

The civil aviation authority had previously imposed a nationwide flight ban in the country at short notice. From 9 p.m. local time (7.30 p.m. CEST) until 6 a.m. (4.30 a.m. CEST) on Monday, all flights in the country were canceled. The reason given was "operational restrictions". No further details were given.

Iran had already closed its airspace for almost 48 hours last week following the rocket attacks on Israel. But even after the closure was lifted again, there were almost no international flights to and from Tehran. Observers had feared that the aviation authority's decision in the evening was made because of an imminent Israeli counter-attack.
