A woman has been killed and several people injured by gunfire at the bus station in the southern Israeli city of Beersheba. The police are assuming it was a terrorist attack. The attacker has been "neutralized". It is not clear from the report whether he was arrested or killed. According to the military, the perpetrator was a Bedouin with Israeli citizenship. The Israeli rescue service reported ten injured people who were treated in a hospital in the city.

Beersheba is considered the "gateway to the Negev desert". A few hours earlier, the Israeli army had reported that additional military personnel had been brought to the vicinity of the Gaza Strip in connection with the anniversary of the terrorist attack on October 7.
