The southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital Beirut were once again rocked by air strikes this morning. Several explosions could be heard from afar, as a reporter from the DPA news agency reported.

Thick clouds of smoke rose from the affected areas. The Israeli attacks probably targeted several buildings in the Hadath and Haret Hreik neighborhoods, for which Israel's army had previously issued evacuation orders. Residents were called upon to keep a distance of at least 500 meters.

The southern suburbs of Beirut, known as Dahija, are considered a stronghold of the Shia militia Hezbollah and are frequently the target of Israeli attacks.
