The International Committee of the Red Cross has delivered 17 tons of urgently needed medicines to Lebanon. These include surgical equipment for the treatment of trauma, burns and other injuries, the ICRC announced. The country's healthcare system "was already strained and is now under extreme pressure due to the ongoing armed conflict". The funds were to go to hospitals and other health facilities throughout the country, with a focus on two hospitals in the Beirut area and in the south of the country.

The World Health Organization (WHO) brought the aid supplies into the country on a plane from Dubai. The WHO is trying to fly in further supplies, its head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told X. The current delivery could treat 100,000 patients.
