Last year, the Federal Administration spent over CHF 7.7 billion on the procurement of goods, construction and services. This was CHF 460 million more than in the previous year. This included costs for roads, migration and armaments.

This is stated in the report on procurement controlling for 2023, which the Federal Council took note of on Friday.

Contracts worth around CHF 6.4 billion were awarded above the WTO threshold. 85 percent of these were awarded in a competitive procedure, as the Federal Office for Buildings and Logistics (FOBL) wrote. The number of direct awards and their volume decreased compared to the previous year.
