The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) recommends that Swiss nationals leave Iran by their own means. However, only if this appears possible and safe, the Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday on X.

Travel to Iran is still not recommended. The development of the situation is highly uncertain, according to the FDFA website.

The Swiss embassy in Tehran is operational and the staff are in good health, the FDFA wrote in response to a request from the Keystone-SDA news agency. All Swiss representations abroad have security and crisis plans in place, which are reviewed and adapted on an ongoing basis. These also include emergency plans.

The FDFA also recommends leaving Lebanon by your own means. The FDFA does not organize the departure of Swiss nationals, it said. The decision to leave a crisis region is made voluntarily, at the departing person's own risk and expense.
