A technical fault at the financial services provider Postfinance led to problems across the country on Friday afternoon until around 6pm. Online banking (e-banking) no longer worked at all, but cash withdrawals at Postomats were also affected.

Not all Postfinance payment methods were available on Friday afternoon. Credit cards, however, worked all the time. The reason was a technical fault, as Postfinance spokesman Rinaldo Tibolla told the Keystone-SDA news agency on request. The online portal Züritoday was the first to report.

Because the Postfinance app was unavailable, it was not possible to log into e-finance (e-banking). Twint also stopped working in some cases. The company gave the all-clear at around 6 pm. All systems were working again, it wrote.
