The homicide in Baar ZG last Friday is suspected to have been committed by the son of the 72-year-old victim. The Zug public prosecutor's office has applied for the 42-year-old Swiss national to be remanded in custody.

The course of the crime and the motive are currently being investigated by the criminal investigation department, as the Zug prosecution authorities announced on Monday. The investigation is being led by the public prosecutor's office of the canton of Zug.

The victim was found dead in her apartment on Friday morning following an emergency call. Her body showed signs of violence. The victim's son was arrested on the spot without resistance.
