The 62-year-old man standing trial in Zurich district court on Tuesday on charges of sexually assaulting young male teenagers has basically confessed. He had a "habit of touching people".

The man has several relevant convictions. He asked the court for a "very last chance". He was prepared to undergo therapy, he said. But only on an outpatient basis - and not in a clinic, as recommended by the psychiatric expert. The expert classified him as being in the highest risk group with regard to sexual acts with young people of an age of consent.

He acknowledged his mistakes, the accused affirmed. And he promised that he would "never do anything like that again". He is dependent on the help of the court.

The prosecution accuses the father of the family from Sri Lanka of sexually molesting boys of protective age on several occasions on SBB trains between Zurich and Bern. The public prosecutor is demanding a prison sentence of 40 months and a six-year deportation order for defilement and multiple sexual acts, some of which were attempted.
