Simon Ammann is losing his starting place in the Swiss World Cup team, which he won internally at the last minute before the start of the season.

This is according to the Swiss-Ski line-up. Yannick Wasser has been called up for the competitions in Zakopane in a week and a half - alongside Gregor Deschwanden, Killian Peier and Felix Trunz.

Ammann now has to compete one level lower in the Continental Cup. This is not a new situation for the 43-year-old, but the pressure is growing from year to year. At least a return to the World Cup seems possible, especially as further planning after Zakopane is ongoing and Ammann can claim to have already reached the final round of the World Cup twice this winter.
