The ZSC Lions and Davos celebrate resounding victories in the National League, while bottom team Ajoie sends a sign of life with a win in Lausanne. These are the facts from Friday's full round.

The ZSC Lions dominated Ambri-Piotta from A to Z and celebrated their highest victory in the Leventina since the introduction of the playoffs with a 7:1 win. The twelfth victory of the champions and leaders in their 14th game of the season was a premiere. Three days after his debut in the National League, 19-year-old Zurich forward Daniel Olsson scored his first professional goal. Immediately after the expiry of a penalty against Ambri-Piotta, the Dane with a Swiss license scored after just two and a half minutes with a rebound to make it 1-0. The man of the match was Canadian Derek Grant with two goals and just as many assists. After recovering from injury, Denis Malgin also got on the scoresheet for ZSC.

HCD foreigners continue to score

HC Davos managed an even bigger victory than ZSC on Friday with an 8:1 win at home against Lugano. Slovakia's Matej Stransky with a hat-trick and Finland's Julius Honka with a brace confirmed that no other team this season is more dependent on the goals of its import players than HCD. 32 of the Graubünden team's 45 goals were scored by foreigners. Davos confirmed their upward trend with their fourth win from the last five games, while Lugano lost for the third time in a row.

Ajoie shows morale

Lausanne delivered an unexpectedly exciting exchange of blows in their home game with bottom-placed Ajoie. In their second game since the release of Christian Wohlwend, the Jura side equalized four times before taking the lead for the first time in the 49th minute after Julius Nättinen's second goal. However, Andrea Glauser saved Lausanne with the 5:5 (54.) into overtime. The game was finally decided in the penalty shoot-out, where Ajoie secured the extra point to secure their second win in their 15th game of the season.

Vozenilek scratches Zug's club record

EV Zug is slowly finding its rhythm and jumped from 8th to 4th place in the table with a commanding 5:1 home win against Servette. Newly signed top scorer Daniel Vozenilek joined the scorers for the eighth game in a row with a 2-0 goal. The Czech world champion could thus equal the club record held by Canadian Bill McDougall since the 1997/98 championship season in the away game in Langnau on Saturday.

Wüthrich's premiere

A sigh of relief for Philip Wüthrich. After Bern's goalie always came off the ice a loser in his first four appearances (all away from home), it worked out in the fifth game of the season with the first win. However, SCB squandered a 2-0 lead in the home game against Kloten after two power-play goals in the middle third by Waltteri Merelä and Victor Ejdsell. The winning goal was scored by Bern's top scorer Marco Lehmann with his ninth goal of the season just three minutes before the end.

Biel's Finns turn things around

Biel turned around a 0:1 at home against the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers in the final third to win 3:1. The goals for Biel's fourth home win in a row were scored by two Finns. Aleksi Heponiemi equalized in the 42nd minute, Toni Rajala scored 1:40 minutes before the end to make it 2:1 and in the final minute into the empty net for the final score. It was the sixth away defeat in a row for the Lakers.

Charlin makes Gottéron desperate

Despite all the bad luck on offense due to injuries, the SCL Tigers, who were playing with only four foreigners, once again showed their tenacious side. Harri Pesonen scored a brace to force overtime after trailing 2-0 in the away game against Fribourg-Gottéron, but the game ended goalless. In the penalty shootout, Pesonen and Julian Schmutz scored again for the visitors, while Langnau goalie Stéphane Charlin, who had a strong showing on several occasions, was only beaten once. With 42 saves in 65 minutes, Charlin paved the way to victory for the Emmental team.
