FC Thun creates a cushion in the 15th round of the Challenge League. The leaders win the top match at Neuchâtel Xamax 3:2 thanks to two late goals.

A crazy final quarter of an hour turned the action at the Maladière on its head several times. First, Xamax captain Yoan Epiteaux decimated his team, which had been leading from the 21st minute thanks to Samir Ramizi, with a yellow and red card (78th minute). Xamax initially responded to Thun's equalizer through Ihsan Sacko (82') by taking the lead again through Shkelqim Demhasaj (88') - only to concede two more goals in defeat.

Euclides Cabral scored an own goal in the 90th minute and Sacko scored again in the 95th minute to secure victory for Thun. As a result, coach Mauro Lustrinelli's promotion hopefuls moved nine points clear of third-placed Neuchâtel in the table. The gap to second-placed Etoile Carouge widened to four points, as the Geneva side also conceded in stoppage time in their 2-2 draw at home to Bellinzona.

Two of the four matches on Friday evening did not take place or only partially took place. The match between FC Schaffhausen and Stade Lausanne-Ouchy had to be called off due to poor pitch conditions following the snowfall. The match between Stade Nyonnais and Vaduz was abandoned after six minutes of play because Nyon captain Adriano De Pierro had to be taken to hospital after a prolonged period of unconsciousness following a hit to the head.
