Lausanne-Sport record their fifth home win in a row in the Super League for the first time. The Vaud club won 1-0 against FC Sion in front of a crowd of just under 9,000.
Teddy Okou's goal in the 80th minute rewarded the hosts for their improved performance. After a cautious first half, Ludovic Magnin's team became increasingly dominant and had a much greater share of the game.
The in-form Swiss U21 international Alvyn Sanches, who had failed to beat Sion goalkeeper Timothy Fayulu in the 54th minute, set up Fabricio Oviedo's goal in his 101st match for Lausanne. Okou's successful combination to score his third goal of the season secured Lausanne's first win against Sion in 13 games.
Belgian veteran defender Noë Dussenne was also the match-winner for Lausanne. The 32-year-old prevented Ilyas Chouaref's almost certain goal with a determined tackle towards the end of the first half. The latter, alone in front of an empty goal, only had to slide the ball in, but mistakenly thought he still had time to put it on his right foot.
