In Major League Soccer, the Seattle Sounders qualify for the playoff quarter-finals as quickly as possible with Swiss goalkeeper Stefan Frei.
Seattle won the round of 16 series against Dynamo Houston 1:0 (h) and 2:1 on penalties (a).
The 38-year-old goalkeeper, who has played in North America for 18 years and in Seattle for eleven, proved to be the best man on the pitch in the second game of the series in Houston. He was only beaten in the 93rd minute and only by an unfortunate own goal from team-mate Cristian Roldan. In the penalty shoot-out, he saved the 14th penalty with his foot, which secured Seattle the victory. He had already saved a penalty earlier, but also left the goal line too early.
Seattle will now face either Los Angeles FC or the Vancouver Whitecaps in the quarter-finals.
