The start of the 5th round of the Champions League phase was marked by victories for the favorites: Milan won 3:2 at Slovan Bratislava and Atlético Madrid 6:0 at Sparta Prague.
AC Milan made the small difference in the last half hour against the Slovaks, who are still without points. Rafael Leão, who came on for Noah Okafor at the break, made it 2-1 in the 67th minute, before Tammy Abraham capitalized on a disastrous defensive error three minutes later to make it 3-1. Slovan Bratislava reduced the deficit in the final minutes with a fine long-range strike from 19-year-old Nino Marcelli.
Atlético Madrid celebrated a record victory in Prague. Argentinians Julian Alvarez and Angel Correa each scored two goals in the Spaniards' highest away win in the Champions League. Like Milan, Atlético Madrid now have nine points to their name.
