The Grasshoppers continue to get nowhere. They suffered their third defeat in a row with a 3-0 loss at Lausanne-Sport.

After the 1-0 win at Young Boys on September 28, the Grasshoppers seemed to be on the right track, but since then they have failed to pick up any more points. And this despite the fact that the record champions faced opponents they should have beaten in Winterthur (0:1) and now Lausanne-Sport, GC, second bottom of the table, want nothing to do with relegation.

Disaster struck for the visitors after just 65 seconds. Awer Mabil slipped at the stupidest moment on the artificial turf in his own half of the pitch, whereupon Alvyn Sanches took the ball, ran into the penalty area and gave GC goalkeeper Justin Hammel no chance with a shot into the far corner. It was the 21-year-old's fifth goal of the current championship.

While the Grasshoppers still had good chances in the first half through Noah Persson (16), Abil (21) and Amir Abrashi in stoppage time, the Zurich side came up short in the second half. The absence of the suspended Giotto Morandi, who is clearly Grasshoppers' most dangerous player in the current championship with three goals and two assists, was clearly noticeable.

Kevin Mouanga made it 2:0 in the 80th minute and seven minutes later Noe Dussenne was responsible for the final score from the penalty spot. Lausanne-Sport celebrated their third home win in a row and have taken seven points from their last three games.
