In Saturday's National League games, HC Davos misses the golden opportunity to take the lead in the standings for the first time in almost ten years.

A point from the home game against HC Fribourg-Gottéron would have been enough. Davos led 2:1 against Fribourg until the 48th minute, but lost 2:3 after conceding a goal 35 seconds before the end.

24 hours earlier, Davos had missed out on first place because HCD squandered a 2:1 lead in Zurich and only won in overtime.

On January 4, 2015, HCD greeted the world leaders for the last time. Since then, almost ten years and 492 rounds of ice hockey have passed.

Of the teams in the top half of the table, only Schlittschuhclub Bern and EHC Kloten have won. The Bernese won again against Zug - but last Wednesday's 6:1 away from home was only followed by a 3:2 win after overtime. Kloten also beat Servette 5-4 in overtime in Geneva.

HC Ajoie got their first win under new coach Greg Ireland. The Ajoulots defeated Ambri-Piotta 4-2 and won their third home game in a row. However, they are still seven points behind the second-last team in the table.

The Bern derby in Biel and the duel between the two currently strongest goalies (Stéphane Charlin and Harri Säteri) went 1-0 to the SCL Tigers.
