FC Winterthur earn their first points away from home in the 12th round of the Super League. The result was a 2-2 draw in St. Gallen.
In the end, the visitors from Winterthur were much closer to their first away win of the season than St. Gallen were to a home victory. Lawrence Ati Zigi made several saves. First he saved a shot from Fabian Frei, then he thwarted a chance from Matteo Di Giusto, who had appeared alone in front of him. And finally, he did not let Labinot Bajrami's finish pass.
Joker Bajrami scored the equalizer 20 minutes before the end and heralded the turbulent final phase. Five minutes earlier, it looked as if St. Gallen would be rewarded for their efforts after all. Chadrac Akolo scored in the thick fog to make it 2:1.
Until then, St. Gallen had made an effort but were too awkward in their opponents' half of the pitch. Bastien Toma's equalizer in first-half stoppage time was one of the home team's few dangerous attacks.
For their part, Winterthur made the most of their first opportunity through Di Giusto in the 20th minute. With the same cold-bloodedness in the final quarter of an hour, the visitors could have scored more than one point.
