For the first time in three years, Basel are top of the table after a complete round. While Zurich lost 1:4 in Lugano, FCB won the other top match of the 15th round against Servette.
The match-winner for Basel was Xherdan Shaqiri. The returnee scored a hat-trick. After making it 1:0 with a free kick in the 40th minute, he scored in stoppage time, first with a penalty to make it 2:1 and then after a counter-attack to make it 3:1. Servette, who were on level terms, had made it 1:1 through Timothé Cognat in the 55th minute.
FCZ were brutally knocked off the leadership throne in Ticino. Lugano clearly dominated the game and, thanks in part to two goals from Renato Steffen, ran out clear 4:1 winners after just 50 minutes. Zurich finished the game with ten players after an assault by top scorer Juan Perea.
In the third game on Sunday, St. Gallen and Yverdon drew 0-0, with Bastien Toma missing the winning goal for the eastern Swiss side by hitting the post a quarter of an hour before the end.
Yverdon's point keeps Winterthur and Grasshoppers, who drew 1-1 in the basement duel on Saturday, at a distance. Young Boys also had to settle for a point in a 1-1 draw in Lucerne. Lausanne-Sport celebrated a 1-0 home win against Sion.
