Basel remain a welcome guest in Bern and have not won in the Wankdorf for 17 games. The Young Boys turn the game around and win 3:2.

You might have expected the 2-1 scoreline to be exactly the same on the other side, given the current mood of the two teams. But it was Basel's Mohamed Dräger who scored a momentous own goal around ten minutes before the end. Six minutes after coming on as a substitute, the Tunisian scored into his own net after a cross from Lewin Blum.

Until then, the animated game had been on a knife-edge. Basel had taken the lead after just under 20 minutes against the run of play. David von Ballmoos was unable to clear a shot from Kevin Carlos. Anton Kade was quicker than Jaouen Hadjam and pushed the ball over the line. Up to this point, the home team had dominated the game and also had the better chances to score. The eye-catching Lukas Lakomy missed the best opportunity when he failed to hit the crossbar.

Just when Basel seemed to have the game under control, YB got back into the game. Filip Ugrinic had no trouble beating Marwin Hitz after 64 minutes with a fine cross from Meschack Elia. The game then lumbered along for a while before Dräger turned things around.

After Ebrima Colley forced an own goal from Adrian Barisic three minutes before the end of normal time, the game seemed to be decided. Dominik Schmid, after preparatory work from Xherdan Shaqiri, brought the tension back. However, it was no longer enough for FCB to secure a point.

For Basel, it was their first defeat after three wins in a row, while for Young Boys it was a much-desired relief.
