This is the 41st time that "Donnschtig-Jass" is going on its summer tour - the "SRF Meteo" evening edition will also be broadcast from the respective venue for seven weeks. It starts in Seengen in the canton of Aargau, a home advantage for weatherwoman Sabine Balmer.

This is her first time in front of a live audience and presenting the weather - even though she has been working for SRF and "Meteo" for 20 years.

Balmer lives with her family in the village of Hallwil and told "Blick":"I'm a bit nervous about the unusual live setting. But the audience makes it easier. I know a lot of people and get a lot of support."

Only three and a half minutes

However, the presenter doesn't have stage fright. Nevertheless, she is happy not to have to sit at the card table: "I don't know enough about playing cards for that," she admitted in the "Glückspost".

She is generally considered a calm person. You hardly notice her nervousness and that helps immensely. "And there's still a rehearsal," she says. Thanks to her radio experience, she wouldn't even have a problem if the picture failed - she could just tell the weather. There is just one challenge: she has exactly three and a half minutes to present the weather.

Incidentally, she still enjoys her job as much as she did 20 years ago when she started at SRF: "It speaks volumes for the job and the people I deal with."

"Confident that it will stay dry"

She also has a funny anecdote to tell about her beginnings at Swiss television: her unmarried name was Water: "Everyone thought he was the first to make a joke about it." But of course that has changed since she got married.

And what will the weather be like for the "Donnschtig-Jass" tonight at 20:05? "I'm pretty confident that it will stay dry. It's not quite fixed yet, but it looks good," predicts Sabine Balmer. During the show, which will be hosted as usual by Rainer Maria Salzgeber, Balmer and Sandra Boner will also have to complete a challenge in a wind tunnel.
