Horror film actor Bill Skarsgård longed for a role in a romantic comedy at the end of the filming of "Nosferatu". Skarsgård slips into the role of the terrifying vampire Count Orlok in the horror film.

"Whenever I do a certain thing, I never want to do it again," he told the German Press Agency. That's how he felt about "Nosferatu". He then thinks to himself: "I want to do a romantic comedy."

Playing Orlok was very exhausting, especially because of the elaborate costume. The transformation took several hours. Skarsgård is unrecognizable in his role as the dead Transylvanian prince. The creepy vampire face consisted of multi-part silicone prostheses. Fake thin fingertips were placed on the actor's fingers, lengthening them by 2.5 centimeters.

"I am never satisfied"

Skarsgård became internationally famous as the child-eating clown Pennywise in the horror film "It". He has no particular interest in playing scary roles. But he loves transforming himself, says the Swede. "I'm never satisfied and need new challenges. When I play a monster, I want to do something completely different next."

The film "Nosferatu" by director Robert Eggers ("The Northman", "The Witch") is a remake of the legendary silent film classic "Nosferatu - A Symphony of Horror" by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau from 1922. Eggers' dark reinterpretation focuses on the newly married Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp). She is haunted by Count Orlok, the vampire Nosferatu. The film will be released in cinemas in Germany on January 2.
