Zurich singer and solo entertainer Bruno "Nöggi" Stöckli has died at the age of 78. The Zurich original "Nöggi" made his breakthrough in the 1980s with his song "I bin en Italiano".

"Nöggi" was a Zurich original and an unmistakable personality, wrote his friends Charley and Sigi on social media on Sunday. The trio performed together on stage for over 30 years.
He was a great artist, Charley and Sigi continued. He lived in and for Zurich. "Nöggi" passed away on Sunday night. The "Blick" online portal first reported on the death.
Probably the best-known song by "Nöggi" is the mood piece "I bin en Italiano", which also featured in the Swiss hit parade of the time in 1981. The song, which was based on a scout song, reached 15th place in the charts. "Nöggi" sang his songs in Zurich German.
His career includes numerous appearances, from stage programs at the Bernhard Theater in Zurich to local events such as weddings and club events. The Swiss cabaret revue "Plausch in Zueri", in which "Nöggi" performed, premiered at the Bernhard Theater in 1983.
"Nöggi" released several albums. His best-of album "Mini 20 meischtverlangte Lieder" also includes songs with titles such as "Cowboy-Traum", "Chilbi-Zyt" and "Hörndli und g'Hackets" or "Chrut und Rüebli".
