Dave Grohl, the frontman of the Foo Fighters, admonished his audience because of "Taylor Swift's anger". He accused her of not playing live. But the background is probably different.

  • Dave Grohl taunted Taylor Swift at a London concert by calling her "Eras Tour" an "Errors Tour".
  • Swift countered by emphasizing her band's live performance and indirectly pointing out Grohl's criticism of playback artists.
  • Grohl's comments could also be linked to earlier hostility towards his daughter, who had criticized Swift for her use of private jets.

Frontman Dave Grohl was recently on stage with his band Foo Fighters in London - the same week that Taylor Swift stopped in the city on her "Eras" tour.

During the concert, Grohl took a jibe at the US pop star: "I'm telling you, you don't want to feel the wrath of Taylor Swift," he said on stage at the London Stadium. In another corner of the city, Swift was on stage.

Grohl added: "We like to call our tour the 'Errors Tour'. We've been through several eras and more than a few mistakes. Here and there. That's what happens when you play live."

Swift remains diplomatic

The comment was probably intended as an allusion to the fact that Taylor Swift uses playback at her concerts and does not perform live.

The following night, Swift seemed to counter - without naming names - when she addressed the audience before the concert: "Every member of the band, every member of the crew, will be there for you live for three and a half hours. They deserve that," she said, "and so do my fellow performers."

Swift's "Eras" tour set a record last year: she is the first artist to earn over a billion dollars with a world tour.

Daughter received death threats

While some critics described Grohl's comments as misogynistic, others put them into perspective. The Foo Fighters frontman was simply frustrated by how many artists use playback at their shows.

Others understand Grohl's jibe differently: his 17-year-old daughter came under fire for harshly criticizing Swift for her use of a private jet. Violet Grohl even received death threats from Swifties, writes "CBS", because she made the comment in a tweet in January. Hence father Dave's comment: "You don't want to feel the wrath of Taylor Swift."
