The ZSC Lions also win their ninth home game of the season. In the only Sunday game in the National League, they beat SC Bern 4-3 after losing a 3-0 lead and overtime.

The last word belonged to the champions and leaders after all: After 3:30 minutes in overtime, ZSC top scorer Derek Grant scored the winner and secured the bonus point for the Zurich team. This came as no surprise in purely statistical terms: while Zurich have now won six of their seven matches after overtime, Bern are still waiting for the extra point in overtime or penalty shoot-out after their seventh attempt.

SC Bern would have thoroughly deserved the win. It made up for a 3-0 deficit from the 39th minute onwards. Waltteri Merelä shortly before the second intermission and Yanick Sablatnig twice in the five-and-a-half minutes that followed brought the Bernese back into the match, which they had somewhat carelessly let slip from their grasp.

The Bernese were the more active team, especially in the first period. Despite a shot ratio of 20:7, however, they trailed 0:2 after 20 minutes. Yannick Weber and Sven Andrighetto scored for the efficient Zurich side, who added a third goal in the second period through Chris Baltisberger on the powerplay. This was preceded by an additional minor penalty against Patrick Nemeth for complaining.
